The chargeable weight is what determines the customer’s shipping cost. It can be either the actual weight from a scale or the volumetric weight calculated using the package dimensions (Length x Breadth x Height in centimeters divided by 5000).
Actual weight is simply the weight measured on a scale. For volumetric weight, a measuring tape is used. If the shipment is large but not dense, the volumetric weight is calculated using dimensions divided by 5000.
Customers are billed based on the higher of actual weight or volumetric weight.
If the weight has a fraction above 100 grams, it’s rounded up to the next kilogram (e.g., 1.101 kg is rounded to 2 kg, and 2.101 kg is rounded to 3 kg).
For larger but less dense shipments, weight is calculated using dimensions divided by 5000.
