Established in 1947, this governmental organization operates as a statutory body in Pakistan. It operates in accordance with the constitutional principles outlined in Articles 18, 25, 27, 34, 36, and 38 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan 1973, as well as under Section 7 of the Federal Public Service Commission Ordinance 1977.
