Misdeclaration encompasses a range of actions, including but not limited to providing inaccurate or incomplete declarations, submitting declarations after the stipulated deadline, making alterations to declarations, or omitting required information.

What penalty is imposed for engaging in misdeclaration?

As a measure to enhance safety protocols and safeguard their crew, vessels, and cargo, Pacific International Lines (PIL) has implemented a charge of USD 30,000.00 per container on a global scale, effective January 10, 2022.
This charge, incorporated into PIL’s carrier tariff, applies to the shipper and/or consignee in cases of misdeclaration involving dangerous and hazardous cargoes/goods (DG Goods).

What fees are applicable for the misdeclaration of cargo weight?

Effective immediately, Pacific International Lines (PIL) has incorporated a global charge of USD 30,000.00 per container into the PIL/carrier’s tariff.
This charge is applied to the shipper and/or consignee in the event of any misdeclaration of cargo weight that exceeds the maximum payload capacity of the container utilized for transportation.
