KPN Travels was founded by K.P. Natarajan in 1972. Coming from a humble farming background, Natarajan began his career in passenger transport as a driver for his brother’s bus company in 1968. He dreamed of creating a reliable luxury transport service throughout Tamil Nadu. Despite an initial setback in 1970 when his first venture failed under debt, Natarajan persevered and established KPN Travels in 1972.

In the early 2000s, KPN Travels introduced rear-engine Volvo luxury buses and was the first to implement online ticketing in 2005, before the rise of ticketing agents like Redbus and MakeMyTrip. KPN Travels also became the launch customer for luxury brands such as Scania and Mercedes Benz.

Policy on Cancellation and Refund

Cancellation Policy

  • Customers can cancel any booked parcel before it is loaded onto the transhipment vehicles.
  • If a “Paid” package is cancelled, the customer will receive a full refund without any cancellation fees.
  • For “To-Pay” parcels, no cancellation fees are required.

Refund for Error Transactions in KPN Parcel Service Tracking

  • Network errors, timeouts, multi-window bookings, saved sessions, back button use, and non-IE browsers may cause incorrect debits from the account.
  • An in-house team performs daily analysis of issued tickets and payment reports from banks (excluding holidays) to identify discrepancies caused by network congestion or user errors.
  • Refunds are processed and sent back to the issuing bank (the user’s card banker) in batches, typically taking about five working days.
  • K.P.N. Speed Parcel Service does not guarantee the speed or accuracy of refunds reaching customers’ bank accounts or credit cards due to multiple organizations involved in processing online transactions and existing Internet infrastructure issues.

Conditions for the Transportation of Goods

General Conditions

  • The KPN Parcel Service Tracking Company, Salem (hereafter referred to as the company), is unaware of the consignments’ nature, content, conditions, or value. Its the owner’s responsibility to acknowledge all the transfers by the organization for dispatch.
  • The transportation of hazardous or flammable items is prohibited.
  • The company reserves the right to accept goods for shipment without justification.
  • The consignee must present the original LR (Lorry Receipt) to receive the booked goods.

The company is not responsible for:

  • Internal damage to package contents
  • Damage to unpacked goods
  • Deterioration-related damage to perishable goods
  • Damage to brittle goods

Liability and Claims

  • Any disputes between the parties and the carrier regarding consignment claims will be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court at Salem.
  • The company limits its claim liability to ten times the LR’s freight charges or the assessed value of goods, whichever is lower, if it receives the claim within 90 days of booking.
  • For paid or “to-pay” parcels, loading and unloading fees will be assessed at either the parcel booking location or the parcel delivery office.

Additional Terms

  • All other agreements are subject to change at the company’s discretion without notice to the consigner/agent.
  • Baggage liability is limited to Rs. 100/-.
